Time to move on?
Just not too long ago, I’ve just posted my enthusiasm in my first job at ON Semiconductor as an Equipment Engineer. I guess its normal for most of us who’ve just graduated to have the strong enthusiasm to step into the working world and contribute our very best efforts towards the company in our area of expertise.
However, the relatively short time in ON Semi made me realise that my burning enthusiasm would not be effectively utilized by the company. The role given to me as an Equipment Engineer could be best described as an “over-rated” job title for the actual job performed. I now realised that I’ll need to seek for a job that could fuel my burning enthusiasm… A job that would allow me to contribute in a product design from an engineering perspective.
I guess everyone has different expectations from their job. Ultimately, I guess all we want is a job satisfaction. For me, my expectation from a job is one that I could learn and do what I like doing – design, and with a reasonably good pay would make my day. Despite all the challenges and difficulty of the job that I’m seeking, at the very least, I’ll be satisfied with what I’ve done at the end of the day. The feeling of accomplishment for successfully completing a design that eventually works is priceless and would make all the hardship worthwhile.
Since my current job could not fuel my enthusiasm, I guess its time for me to move on to a company that could offer me a job that would best fit my interest. Time for me to move on?
Sounds like you are in the same rut as me.
Hope you find a great company that will and can make use of your talents to its full pontential.
